VIC - Dust Diseases

This article will show you how to:

To create a new Dust Diseases matter, follow the steps below. 

  1. Click New Matter from the Home Screen
  2. Select State: VIC
  3. Select Matter Category: Personal Injury
  4. Select Matter Type: Dust Diseases

  5. Enter the Claimant and Defendant, including all relevant details
  6. Select 'Disease Details' to enter the Date of Diagnosis, diagnosed Disease, Diagnosing Doctor and any further details of the disease

  7. Select 'Employment History' to enter the details of the Claimant's Employment History

  8. Select 'Court Details' to enter the Dust Diseases Tribunal and Case Number

  9. Enter the Doctor/s and then select the Doctor Details layout for each Doctor to add the Doctor Type and select whether they are the Nominated Treating Doctor or giving evidence

  10. Enter the MedicoLegal/s and then select the MedicoLegal Details layout for each MedicoLegal to add the MedicoLegal Type and select whether they are giving evidence

  11. To add Uncommon Contacts and Layouts to your matter, open the Matter Settings and select the appropriate contact from the Parties & Data available in your matter.
    For Dust Diseases (VIC), the available parties include Court, Barrister, Expert, Previous Solicitor, Process Server and Additional Contacts:

Change existing General matter to Dust Diseases

Existing VIC General matters can be easily changed to Dust Diseases as follows:

  1. Open your existing General matter (used for Dust Diseases)
  2. Open Matter Type
  3. Select change...

  4. Select new Matter Type as Personal Injury > Dust Diseases
  5. Select OK:
  6. Enter Reason For Change
  7. Select OK:
  8. Your matter will now appear as 'Dust Diseases', with the party roles and layouts that are available in the Dust Diseases matter
