Assigning Emails to a Matter

There are three ways to assign an email to a matter:

  1. Using the Smokeball Outlook toolbar, browse or search for the matter by typing the name of the client, internal reference number, name of the opposing side, etc.
  2. Right-clicking on one (or more) email(s) and assigning it to a matter.
  3. Using the auto-assign feature to prompt to save an email to a matter when sending an email from Outlook.
    1. This setting is enabled in the Smokeball settings under “Outlook and Notifications. Select “Enabled” under Force Email Allocation.
