Contact Imports

As part of your onboarding process, your contacts can be imported into Smokeball. Your contacts will be available to use in Smokeball and help fill out matters quickly.

Just like moving into a new house, it's important to clean up and remove anything that is not necessary before importing contacts.

Make sure to look over your contacts before sending them over to be imported so there are no duplicates.

If you were already Outlook or previously using Gmail, it is very easy to export your contacts (see below). If you have another system, if you provide your contacts in a CSV in the format below, we will import them into Smokeball.

What will be available from a contact import:

Individual Contacts Company Contacts
  • Title, First Name, Middle Name, Last Name
  • Home Phone
  • Work Phone
  • Cell Phone
  • Email
  • Home Address
  • Gender
  • DOB (Date of Birth)
  • Notes
  • Name
  • Business Phone
  • Business Fax
  • Business Address
  • Notes
  • Any contacts associated with that business

Once you have exported your contacts, send the CSV your Account Manager. Our  team will then upload the contacts into your Smokeball account. 

If you are using a platform other than Outlook or Gmail we advise reaching out to the support team of that platform for assistance or directions for export.

How to Export Contacts from Outlook or Gmail

Exporting Contacts from Outlook

Export a contact list in a .CSV or .XLS format.

  • From Outlook, select File >> Open & Export >> Import/Export

  • Once the Import and Export Wizard opens, select export to file and next.
    • Select "comma separated values" and next.

  • Find your contacts folder and select next
    • Create a name for your exported file, browse for where you want to save the file, and select next.

  • Select Finish. Locate your .CSV file of your contacts to review and submit for importing into Smokeball.
Exporting Contacts from Gmail
  • From Gmail, select Contacts

 

  • Select export and choose "Outlook CSV."

  • Locate your .CSV file of your contacts to review and submit for importing into Smokeball.
