Smokeball Security - Amazon Web Services

Security of your client data is extremely important. Smokeball is committed keeping all your data secure.

Smokeball uses Amazon Web Services. Amazon is the gold standard for cloud computing due to its security.

If you have any questions, concerns, or need additional information, reach out to your Account Manager.

Some important things to know about Smokeball Security with Amazon Web Services:

  • All traffic between Smokeball and our servers is encrypted over the wire using TLS encryption.
  • All documents are stored encrypted at rest using AES-256 bit encryption in AWS S3 which is inherently durable (if you were to store 10,000,000 documents with S3, you can on average expect to incur a loss of a single document once every 10,000 years)
  • All our infrastructure is contained within AWS who have obtained a substantial amount of compliance in industry standards. Learn more about Amazon compliance.
  • We also secure data via access controls within AWS via Identity management and network firewalls
  • Redundancies are in place across AWS geographical regions for all data
  • Backups of non-document data occur every 15 mins. Backups of documents are not necessary (see the S3 point above)
