Billing Release October 2022

October’s Billing release features exciting new features and updates. Read on to learn more.

New Features

  • You can now enable eInvoices under the Invoice Settings tab in Firm Settings.
    • Use eInvoices to give your clients a central place to pay, view, or download invoices.
    • eInvoices will inform you if a client has viewed an invoice.
    • Invoice details on eInvoices can be organized by staff or displayed as a list. 
    • This feature can be enabled or disabled on both a firm-wide level and on a per-matter basis.

  • The Contacts tab is now paginated and displays up to 50 users per page. 
    • This optimization provides a cleaner interface and makes navigating large numbers of contacts easier.
    • Enjoy load on demand functionality to browse your contacts with speed and ease.

  • The Fees tab is also now paginated and will show the first fifty fees associated with the designated day and timekeeper.
  • The Payment Plans tab has been added to the Contacts page.
    • View all your debtors with payment plans in a central location. 
    • Use the table headers to sort payment plan debtors by last payment, outstanding balance, status, plan details, and more. 
    • Payment Plans are also paginated.

Updates and Bug Fixes

  • The width of the operating retainer modal window is now correctly displayed when opened from a Contact screen.
  • Number fields can no longer be modified by up and down arrows or with a mouse wheel.
    • These changes have been made to minimize erroneous entries.
  • Modifying the hours on an invoice draft no longer automatically changes the value of the field to zero. 
  • The report you are viewing will now be remembered if the web page is refreshed.
  • The horizontal scrollbar has been removed from the finalize panel on the draft invoice page.
  • The journal entry number format for our QuickBooks integration has been changed to Reference Number – Paid To in order to minimize duplicate entries. 
    • Duplicate journal entry numbers which do occur are now permitted and bypass QuickBooks’ Warn if duplicate journal number is used advanced setting.
  • Fixed a bug where the Check prefix to QuickBooks journal entry numbers sometimes did not appear when a trust check was used to pay an invoice.
  • Activity will always be created if the override default rate per staff member is selected.
  • Changing the date range will now automatically deselect transactions outside of the date range in bank reconciliations.
  • Fixed a bug which prevented custom SSRS reports from loading.
  • Fixed a rare bug where some bank reconciliations were missing adjustments.
  • Fixed an issue where the create deposit slip summary section included the total from the previous deposit slip instead of starting over from zero.
