Add multiple contacts in the same Role

If your matter involves multiple people in one role, such as having two buyers on a purchase matter, you can record them in two different ways:

Read on to decide the best approach for your matter.

Add individual contact cards to the role

To add a second or subsequent contact to any matter role:

  1. Right-click on the role, then select Add or Add an existing. The menu names change depending on the role you select (e.g. select Add Buyer or Add an existing Buyer if you have right-clicked on the Buyer role).
  2. Choose whether they are represented by the same Solicitor or a different Solicitor.
  3. If you selected to add a new contact, enter their contact details.

Add additional contact at the same address

To add additional contacts who share the same address as the existing role:

  1. Open the existing contact and select "Add another contact at same address":
  2. Enter the name and contact details for the new contact.
    • Note: The address will be automatically filled in to match the original contact.
  3. Click Save.

Party names will then appear on separate lines in the Matter Details section:

You can add in as many contacts as required using the above methods.

When creating a new letter, the additional contact will be available to choose from in the recipient list. Learn more about generating a letter or precedent for multiple contacts on a matter.
