Using Word Styles

If your firm has a specific style guideline used across all documents, set up Styles on Word to make it easier to apply this style consistently.

  1. In the Word home ribbon, right-click the Normal style and select Modify.
    • The Normal style is the default style you use when entering text into a document.
  2. The Modify Style window will now open. Make changes to fonts and formatting here.
  3. Click OK.
  4. Make changes to other styles if needed, such as the heading styles.
  5. Place the cursor in front of the <<Body Content>> automation field.
  6. Click Save & Close

The styles will now be available when editing precedents that use the letterhead.

Additional tips

  • Use the Show/Hide feature in Word to help you format the document.
