Responding to activity detail requests

Available on Smokeball Grow and Prosper+

Learn how to access the Detail Requests section in the Smokeball desktop app to address client enquiries about specific fee items on an invoice.

When you send an invoice to a client, and they review it via the eInvoice Portal, they can request additional details about the invoice from the staff member responsible by expanding on the Fees section and selecting Request Additional Info

Accessing Detail Requests

  1. In the Smokeball desktop app, select the Time & Disbursements tab.
  2. Select the Detail Requests tab.
  3. In the staff drop-down menu, select the staff member whose name was listed next to the time, fee or disbursement entry on the invoice.
  4. Select the request to respond to.

To respond to the request, use the text box under Description of Work. You can also select Pre-populate response, which will automatically fill out the Description of Work based on information captured from Smokeball's Activity Tracking feature.

Once you're ready to send the additional details, select Mark as ready, then Send Response.

Your client will receive an email with a link to access the eInvoice Portal, where they can review the additional details you've provided.
