Cost Assessment (NSW)

The Cost Assessment (NSW) matter type provides the necessary contact cards and layouts for Party–Party and Solicitor–Client Cost Assessments held in the Supreme Court.

Common Contact Cards and Layouts

The following Contact Cards and Layouts appear by default on a Cost Assessment (NSW) matter:

  • Applicant and its sub-layout Details where you can select whether the applicant will be paying or recovering costs and where the total costs value can be entered
  • Respondent and its sub-layout Details where you can select whether the respondent will be paying or recovering costs and where the total costs value can be entered
  • Case Details
    Enter the case number, registry, division, list and court details

Uncommon Contact Cards and Layouts

Uncommon contact cards are also available for selection on a matter-by-matter basis:

  • Previous Solicitor
  • Additional Contact

If you don’t see a contact card needed for this matter type, you can submit a request for it to be added to Smokeball.

Precedent Library

The Cost Agreement (NSW) matter provides access to the Litigation (NSW) Precedent Profile with pre-set Precedent Library folder File Setup which include non-legally drafted precedents for everyday use, together with shortcuts to commonly used documents found under Court & Authority forms:
