Archive a Communicate Client Portal Conversation

If you wish to wrap up a Communicate conversation over a matter, consider archiving it. Once a conversation has been archived, your clients will no longer be able to send new messages to the conversation. However, they can see a historical log of the old messages.

Conversations you can archive:

  • Internal Matter Conversations
  • External Matter Conversations
  • Channels (group chat with other Smokeball users)

Conversations you cannot archive:

  • Direct Messages (conversations between Smokeball users, that are not tied to a matter)

To archive a conversation:

  1. Select Messages from the Smokeball Desktop App or Web App to enter the Client Portal.
  2. Select the conversation to archive from the left menu.
  3. Click on the three dots on the right-hand side of the conversation, then select Archive Conversation.

You can view all archived conversations at the bottom of the conversation list.

To restore an archived conversation, click on it and select Restore Conversation.
