Smokeball's Activity Intelligence helps keep track of every matter you open, calendar event, document created, tasks, emails sent/received, and memos. There are some tasks or events you may want to keep track of that happen outside of Smokeball.
Make sure you add all additional activities and tasks completed to a specific matter to ensure you have the most accurate information for your activity.
Add an activity from the matter
Open the matter file, select the Activity tab, and click on Activity from the matter action bar.
A New Activity window will appear on the screen.
- The date is automatically set to today's date, but you have the option to change it if needed.
- Staff name can be changed if another staff member performed the activity.
- If Hours (Hrs) is selected for the Duration, enter the duration in the format of hh:mm.
- The matter is automatically linked to the matter you generated this activity from.
- When the activity is converted into a time entry, any information entered in the details field will appear on the subject line of the entry.
Add an activity from the Activity View
Select Activity from the left panel, then select Activity from the action bar.
When creating an activity this way, you should click Browse next to the Matter field to select the matter it applies to.
The activity will appear in the Activity calendar and your AutoTime preview tab.
Additional tips
- If you have AutoTime enabled, Smokeball automatically tracks your Activities completed in the program and assigns a time value to it. These activities will appear on the Activity tab or AutoTime preview tab.
- You can amend an Activity from the Activity tab by double-clicking on it.
