Using the Calendar View

In Smokeball, the Calendar tab acts as your shared calendar, where you can choose to see anyone's calendar or set up group calendars as well.

If you have connected Smokeball to Outlook, your Smokeball calendar events should sync with your Outlook calendar and vice versa. 

Entering Calendar View

Select Calendar from the left menu in the Smokeball desktop or web app to access your calendar.

Desktop app:

View multiple calendars

Choose which Group Calendar or Staff Calendars you wish to see by selecting or deselecting the check mark on the left panel.

All selected calendars will have their events appear on the main calendar and can be differentiated by the calendar colour.

Create or edit a calendar event

Calendar events can be created on both the Smokeball desktop app and web app. For more information, see Create calendar events.

Desktop app:

Double-click on an empty area in the calendar to create a new event. Alternatively, select Event from the Smokeball action bar.

You can also edit an existing calendar event by double-clicking on it.

Web app:

Double-click on an empty area in the calendar to create a new event. Alternatively, select New Event at the top of the calendar.

You can also edit an existing calendar event by double-clicking on it.

Note: Some fields that are available when creating an event on the desktop app are unavailable on the web app:

Change the calendar view

Desktop app:

Select Day, Work Week, Week, Month or Timeline on the top-right corner of the calendar to change your default view.

Web app:

Select Day, Work Week, Week or Month on the top-right corner of the calendar to change your default view.

Print the calendar view

Note: The Print feature on your calendar can only be accessed from the Smokeball desktop app.

Print your calendar by selecting Print on the Smokeball action bar. Choose from Daily View, Weekly View or Monthly View.

You can also print individual appointments:

  1. Click on an event in the calendar.
  2. Select Print from the Smokeball action bar.
  3. Select Appointment.

Create group calendars

Group calendars can be used to track events that involve more than one staff member, such as meeting room bookings. 

Note: Group calendars can only be created using the Smokeball desktop app, but they can be viewed on the web app.

To create a group calendar:

  1. Select Manage calendars on the bottom-left corner of Calendar View.
  2. Select Create a new Calendar on the bottom-left corner of the next window.
  3. Name your group calendar and select a colour.
  4. Select Save.

Add a label to a calendar event

You can add additional labels to a calendar event to further categorise calendar events by right-clicking on the event and selecting Label As.

Note: Calendar labels are not available on the web app.
