Smokeball includes features to provide receipts for payments or deposits to a trust retainer.
This article walks through how to set up your trust account receipts settings and how to generate a receipt for transactions.
Set Up and Generate Receipts
- Navigate to Firm Settings > Accounts > Trust Account Settings.
- Navigate to Trust and Operating Account options.
- Make sure the Trust Account is activated and enter the Trust Account Name as you want it to appear on the deposit receipt.
- Select Always open a PDF receipt after you create a trust deposit.
If you do not wish to use the Always open a PDF receipt when creating a Trust Deposit option by default and prefer to generate receipts on an individual basis, you can do so in the Trust Payment window by ticking the Open PDF receipt now checkbox.
If a receipt is not generated by default, you can generate a receipt at any time from the individual transactions by selecting the three dot icon and then selecting Print Receipt.
A PDF will open in a new tab to email, download, or print.
