Learn how to add Beneficiaries and Will details to an Estate Planning matter and insert these fields into a precedent.
Adding Beneficiaries to the matter

Enter your client details in your Estate Planning matter.

Refer to Adding Contacts for more information on adding contacts generally.

Open Estate Planning Details or Will Details if it's a Will matter.

Click on the Will 2 (cont.) tab or Page 2 tab if it's a Will matter.

Enter the beneficiary details in the Primary Beneficiaries and Secondary Beneficiaries table.

If there are more than one beneficiary and the residuary estate will be:

Equally distributed: Leave the share column blank.

Unequally distributed: Enter the share amount allocated to each beneficiary e.g. 20% or 1/3 in the share column.

Adding Will Details to the matter
- Select the Disposal Method from the dropdown menu and enter the Disposal of Body Location.
- Select the Preservation Age from the dropdown menu. If the preferred age is unavailable in the dropdown, you may override the options by typing in the textbox.
Adding Beneficiaries and Will Details Automation Fields to a precedent
The Beneficiaries and Will Details automation fields are available under the following headings in the right-hand panel when you create or modify a precedent:
- Client
- Solicitor
- Estate Planning Details
- Will Details
- Estate Planning Details
- Solicitor
The automation fields can be added to new and existing precedents so that the Beneficiaries and Will Details are populated into your precedent.
