One of the most powerful features of Smokeball is saving time and ensuring the accuracy of your documents by utilising the data entered on a matter and your standard letterhead and formatting options when required.
Smokeball has an extensive library of precedents available for your use. However, you can also create one-off letters or documents in any matter whenever needed.
Whenever creating a document, make sure you use the Smokeball Word ribbon to ensure the document is always saved to the appropriate matter.
Creating a Blank Letter or Document
- Open the matter. In the Action Bar, select New Document and select Letter/Fax.
- The Document option creates a blank document without a letterhead.
- You can also create a blank letter by opening a contact card and selecting Blank Letter on the contact action bar.
- In the New Letter window, tick the new window's relevant letterhead and addressee(s). Your selections automate into the new letter.
- Select Create Document.
- The new letter opens in Word. Expand the Smokeball Bar on the right-hand side of Word to view or amend details on the matter. Any details amended here will be synced back to the matter file in Smokeball.
- Once you have completed writing the letter, select the Save to Smokeball  icon from the Smokeball ribbon. This ensures the letter will be saved back to the Smokeball matter.
