Requirements for Aquarius Reporting integration

• An active Smokeball account

• A nominated Smokeball user with permission to approve third-party integrations

• A Microsoft 365 account with a Power BI Pro licence to host Aquarius reports

Power BI Credentials

• An active Smokeball account

• A Microsoft 365 account will need to be created for set up, deployment and ongoing management of the solution.​
• Recommended format: PowerBI@[clientdomain].co.uk ​
• This Entity will require:​
  • Read-Only Access to the Case Management ​and/or Finance System Database(s)​
  • A Power BI Pro License – More info here​
• This account will own the Aquarius datasets, reports, and Power BI App for the firm

Tenancy Settings

The PowerBI@[clientdomain].co.uk will need to have permission to create workspaces. This can also be given to the entire organisation as seen below:

Azure Maps also need to be enabled, as Aquarius uses these maps in multiple reports:

Setup Steps

1. To set up the Aquarius Reporting integration, the firm must complete a one-time authorisation process. In this purpose Aquarius provides a secure authorisation link to the firm

2. The nominated user clicks the link and is redirected to Smokeball

3. The user logs in using their Smokeball credentials

  4. Authorisation is completed and data syncing begins automatically

After Authorisation

Once the integration is authorized:

• Aquarius securely retrieves data from Smokeball on a scheduled basis
• Data is processed and loaded into Power BI Service
• Aquarius dashboards and reports are published as a Power BI App
• Firm users can access reports via Power BI based on their permissions
