Smokeball partners with Kenect to provide you with industry-leading texting tools that can be used to reach your clients, create online reviews, gather leads, and collect payments. You can use your firm’s phone number to text clients and leads with Kenect. Read on to learn more.
Set up the Kenect integration
Follow these steps to set up the Kenect integration:
- Log in to your Kenect account.
- Navigate to Settings and then select Integrations.
- Select Smokeball and then select the Authorize Integration button.
- You should receive a notification indicating that the authentication was successful. You will then need to configure the contact sync, leads, and post conversations as shown in the image below and then select Save:

Contact Syncing
Once the integration is enabled, Kenect will sync your Smokeball contacts every 10 minutes.
Lead Push
Each time a contact is pushed from the Kenect lead text widget, it will be created in Smokeball. The name, phone number, and message entered by the prospect on the widget will populate the Smokeball lead. Note: Leads will be created as the type configured in Kenect.
Conversation Posting
You can assign a Kenect conversation to a matter through Kenect. After assigning the conversation to a matter, the conversation is posted from Kenect in real time. Conversations can be viewed via link on the relevant contact card or via memo on the relevant matter. You can configure this feature in Kenect settings.
Matter Status Updates and Invoices Notification
When you create a matter in Smokeball, or if a matter’s status is changed in Smokeball, a message can be sent to the client. Likewise, you can send a payment request to the customer when an invoice is created.
