To help you take advantage of Smokeball’s TemplateLab features, we created several Practice Guides that will help you learn how to create templates using TemplateLab fields, Asks, and If-Then-Else Statements.
In order to access the TemplateLab Practice Guides, you will need to enable the TemplateLab Practice Form Suite. This form suite is included in your Smokeball subscription for the Grow and Prosper tiers.
Enable the TemplateLab Practice form suite in Smokeball Settings
- Navigate to Smokeball Settings (File > Smokeball Settings).
- Select the Form Suites tab from the left.
- Using the State dropdown menu in the upper right, select ALL as the state.
- Select the checkbox under status to Subscribe to the form suite. By default, form suite Updates will be set to Accept All Changes.
- Select Save.
Once you’ve subscribed to the form suite, you’ll need to navigate to the practice guides in Template Lab. You can use any matter type to access the practice guides.
Open the Practice Guides in TemplateLab
- Open any matter, then click on the TemplateLab button on the matter action bar.
- The TemplateLab Library will open a new screen. Select “Form Suites” or “>>,” on the left side of the screen to show the Navigation Panel.
- At the bottom of the Navigation Panel, select “Show all Form Suites.” This will show all of the form suites your firm is subscribed to instead of just the ones relevant to the matter you currently have open.
- In the Navigation Panel, scroll until you find the “Template Lab Practice” form suite. Select it to show the practice guides and answer keys in the form suite.
- To open and use a practice guide, right click on the guide and select “Modify.”
Each practice guide will have instructions for how to use them, as well as separate Guide Keys which you can look at for reference.
