Learn how to connect Smokeball to your Redview instance to seamlessly start utilising Redview's business analytic capabilities.
Connecting Smokeball to Redview
Access to Redview is granted when your firm purchases the software. The Redview team will set up your firm's database in the system and send you an email to log in.
Once logged in, authenticate with your Smokeball login details to start the data sync from Smokeball to Redview.
How Smokeball data appears in Redview
Data synced over from Smokeball will appear on your Redview dashboard.
Matters
You can view all matters synced in the Current Matters cards.
Clicking on the number of matters allows you to drill down on matters at a summary level. Select the eye icon on the right-hand side of the screen to add or remove filters from the table.
Billable Hours
The billable hours figure in the Billable Hours Recorded vs Budget card should reconcile with the Billable hours column on the Time and Disbursement Entries report in Smokeball.
Clicking on this card displays the timesheet details.
Fees Recorded
The fees recorded figure in the Fees Recorded vs Budget card should reconcile with the Billable value column on the Time and Disbursement Entries report in Smokeball.
Clicking on this card displays each staff member's fees produced, alongside the budget amount set in Redview.
Fees Billed
The fees billed figure in the Fees Billed vs Budget card should reconcile with the Fees Billed column on the Billed Fees & Disbursements - Details report in Smokeball.
Clicking on this card displays each staff member's fees billed, alongside the budget amount set in Redview.
Fees Collected
Note that the closest Smokeball report that reconciles with the figure in the Fees Collected vs Budget card is the Money Received report. The difference is that GST and disbursements are included in the Money Received report but not in the Redview dashboard, which covers service fees for each individual staff member.
Accounts Receivables
The Accounts Receivable report in Smokeball syncs with the Total Debt Owing card in Redview.
Clicking on this card displays the details of the matters that contribute to the debt owing figure.

Trust Accounts
The total in the Account Balances report in Smokeball syncs with the Total Trust Account Balance card in Redview.
Clicking on this card displays the trust account balances by matter.
