Set up default matter tags

Default Matter tags can be used to group matters or to create email marketing campaign groups.

To create Default Tags: 

1. Access Smokeball Settings and select Matter Configuration.
2. Select Add New.
3. If you already have Matter Configuration set up for this matter type, double-click on the matter type displayed instead of selecting Add New.
   

The Matter Configuration window will open.

1. Select the Tags tab.
2. Confirm the Matter Type listed is the one you wish to add tags to. If not, select change... to select the correct one.
3. If you selected change..., choose the correct Matter Type from the list.
4. Select OK.
   

Next, start adding tags to the Matter Type.

1. Enter the name of the tag.
2. Select a tag colour to make it easily identifiable from other tags.
3. Select Add Tag.
4. Select Save.

When creating a new matter of this type, the Matter Tags will be available for selection. To apply tags:

1. Open the matter file and select the plus icon next to the matter status.
2. Click on the tags you wish to apply to the matter. You can apply one or more tags to a matter.
