NSW - Workers Injury Damages

This article will show you how to:


To create a new Workers Injury Damages matter, follow the steps below. 

  1. Click New Matter from the Home Screen
  2. Select State: NSW
  3. Select Matter Category: Personal Injury
  4. Select Matter Type: Workers Injury Damages

  5. Enter the Claimant, including all relevant details
  6. Enter the Insurer and then select the Insurer Details layout to add the Insurer's Claim Number and Policy Number

  7. Select 'Injury Details' to enter the Injury Occurred Date and Details. The Statute of Limitations Expiry Date will automatically calculate for you here.

  8. If the matter is proceeding to the Personal Injury Commission then you should also add your Commission Details, including the Commission Matter Number and PIC

  9. If the matter is proceeding in the Courts, you will need to add the Case Number and Court to your Court Details layout.

  10. Enter the Doctor/s and then select the Doctor Details layout for each Doctor to add the Doctor Type and select whether they are the Nominated Treating Doctor or giving evidence

  11. Enter the MedicoLegal/s and then select the MedicoLegal Details layout for each MedicoLegal to add the MedicoLegal Type and select whether they are giving evidence

  12. To add Uncommon Contacts and Layouts to your matter, open the Matter Settings and select the appropriate contact from the Parties & Data available in your matter.
    For Workers Injury Damages (NSW), the available parties include Deceased, Accountant, Barrister, Process Server, Previous Solicitor and Additional Contacts:

Change existing General matter to Workers Injury Damages

Existing NSW General matters can be easily changed to Workers Injury Damages as follows:

  1. Open your existing General matter (used for Workers Injury Damages)
  2. Open Matter Type
  3. Select change...

  4. Select new Matter Type as Personal Injury > Workers Injury Damages
  5. Select OK:
  6. Enter Reason For Change
  7. Select OK:
  8. Your matter will now appear as 'Workers Injury Damages', with the party roles and layouts that are available in the Workers Injury Damages matter:
