Using LAWCLERK with Smokeball
- The next step is to connect your bank account to LAWCLERK via Stripe. You must connect your bank account in order to get paid.
- Once you have connected your Smokeball account and bank account, click on Get Work to browse and apply for projects. You will receive an email from LAWCLERK if your application is accepted.
- The matter associated with the project in LAWCLERK will be automatically created in Smokeball and visible in the global Matters view. The attorney who hired you will be marked as the client.
- Download documents shared by the hiring attorney on LAWCLERK and upload them into the Smokeball matter. You can then work on the matter as if it had been created in Smokeball from the start, creating tasks, letters, events, etc.
- Once you have completed work on the documents, download the finalized versions and upload them back to LAWCLERK for the hiring attorney's review.
- Enter the time you spent working on the documents and any relevant expenses into LAWCLERK and complete a time card.
- The hiring attorney will then need to approve your time and send an invoice to you. This invoice will automatically attach to your Smokeball record. The hiring attorney will pay the invoice in LAWCLERK, and you will receive your payment via Stripe.
