Verdica Smokeball Integration
Verdica turns a personal injury firm's medical records into a demand package the same day: a medical summary, a settlement valuation, and a demand letter written in the firm's own voice.
The Smokeball integration lets you choose which Smokeball matters to bring into Verdica. Each one opens as a Verdica case with its documents pulled in from Smokeball, and when the work is done you send it back to the matter.

Before You Begin
- An active Smokeball account with permission to authorize third-party applications for your firm.
- An active Verdica account with the admin role.
- Your firm's Smokeball region (United States, Australia or United Kingdom).
How to Connect Smokeball
- In Verdica, open Settings > Integrations.
- Find Smokeball and select Connect.
- Choose your firm's Region and select Continue to Smokeball.
- Sign in to Smokeball and approve the access request.
- You are returned to Verdica, which confirms the connection.
How to Import Your Matters
- On the Smokeball tile, select Import matters.
- Verdica lists your Open and Pending Smokeball matters. Search or scroll to find the ones you want.
- Tick each matter you want in Verdica and confirm its case type. Verdica suggests one where it can.
- Select Import.
Each matter becomes a Verdica case linked to its Smokeball matter, and its documents are pulled in and read automatically. Each imported matter counts as one case on your Verdica plan. You can return to Import matters at any time to bring in more.

To send work, open a case in Verdica and select the Smokeball button. You can also select Pull new documents there to bring in new documents right away. Demand packages are saved in a "Verdica" folder on the matter. Verdica never changes or deletes your Smokeball matters.
Optional: Import New Matters Automatically
A firm admin can turn on Import new matters under Settings > Integrations > Smokeball > Manage. New Open and Pending matters then become Verdica cases on their own, along with existing matters that are edited in Smokeball. Matters whose case type is unclear are held in the Activity list for you to review. This setting is off by default.
Disconnecting the Integration
In Verdica, open Settings > Integrations, select the Disconnect button on the Smokeball tile, then Confirm disconnect. Nothing further moves between Verdica and Smokeball. Cases already in Verdica, and anything already sent to Smokeball, stay where they are.
Troubleshooting
A matter is not in the Import matters list
Only Open and Pending matters are listed. Matters already in Verdica are hidden; select Show to see them.
A new document isn't in Verdica yet
New documents added to a linked matter usually arrive within a few minutes. To bring them in right away, open the case in Verdica, select the Smokeball button, then select Pull new documents.
The Smokeball tile says "Reconnect required"
Smokeball asks you to sign in again periodically. Select Reconnect and sign in to Smokeball.
