Smokeball offers an integration with Lawmatics. Lawmatics is lead management software specifically tailored to lawyers and law firms. For more information related to Lawmatics, visit their website, Lawmatics.com.
Smokeball users can turn on the integration with Lawmatics by going to https://app.lawmatics.com/settings/integrations. This integration is available with all Lawmatics subscriptions.
Important Note
This integration is a one-way sync from Lawmatics to Smokeball. Information entered into Smokeball will not be sent back to Lawmatics.
Set up the Lawmatics integration
- Sign into Lawmatics and select the Settings gear icon in the top-right corner.
- Select Integrations from the left sidebar.
- Select Smokeball and then select Connect Smokeball.
Once your account is connected, you should see the a page similar to the one depicted below:
The three green toggles enable you to customize what items from a matter will sync to Smokeball:
- Matter Conversion Sync: This toggle enables the synchronization of your matters from Lawmatics to Smokeball when the lead is converted to a matter. This option is enabled by default.
- Matter Document Sync: When turned on, this option allows for documents and files from your Lawmatics matter to sync to the documents section of a matter in Smokeball. You can preview the documents that will sync by selecting the Files tab on the Lawmatics matter's profile.
- Matter Note Sync: When turned on, this option will send notes from your matters in Lawmatics to sync to the notes section of a Smokeball matter. You can preview the notes that will sync by selecting the Notes tab on the Lawmatics matter's profile.
Map practice areas from Lawmatics to Smokeball
You can also map practice areas. Select a Lawmatics practice area from the dropdown menu and select the corresponding Smokeball practice area from the adjacent dropdown menu.
Matters will now sync from Lawmatics to Smokeball with the practice areas assigned automatically. Note: The Lawmatics lead will map to the state of the contact if the firm has multiple states mapped to the same Lawmatics practice area. If no Smokeball area of law is mapped to a Lawmatics area of law, the matter will show as General in Smokeball.
You can scroll down the Lawmatics page to review the standard mapped fields. These fields listed in the screenshot below automatically map from Lawmatics to the corresponding field in Smokeball. However, you can also map custom fields from Lawmatics to Smokeball. Choose the custom Lawmatics field from the dropdown menu and then select the corresponding field in Smokeball from the adjacent dropdown menu.

Sync matters from Lawmatics to Smokeball
Once you have linked your Lawmatics account to Smokeball and configured your settings, you can begin syncing a Lawmatics matter to Smokeball. You have two sync options:
Conversion
The convert button is found in the top right of any PNC matter in Lawmatics. When you select the convert button, the matter will be synced to Smokeball and change to a hired status in Lawmatics. Note: You can automate this process.
Sync to Smokeball
Select the Sync to Smokeball button if you need to sync a matter to Smokeball before the lead has hired the firm. This button will not change the Lawmatics matter to hired status. Note: This process can also be automated using the Sync to Case Management button.
Once the matter has been synced from Lawmatics to Smokeball, you can continue to add files, documents, and other information to the matter in Lawmatics should you wish to do so. You can sync the new data from Lawmatics to the Smokeball matter by selecting the Sync button located at the top of the Lawmatics matter. Note: Selecting Resync will update the existing matter in Smokeball and not create a duplicate entry.
