Make Zoom Calls from Smokeball

Use our Zoom integration to easily start calls directly from the contact in Smokeball and automatically track your time on all inbound and outbound calls.

Before you begin, ensure you've connected Smokeball to Zoom.

Make a Call from Smokeball

  • Select the phone number from any contact view in Smokeball and this will start the call in Zoom.

  • You can also place calls directly from the Zoom app. Calls placed from the Zoom app will be linked to a contact card and matter if one exists:

  • If a call is placed and there is no contact card associated, it will not be linked to a contact card or matter, and the phone number will appear. You can link the call to a matter manually:

Note: The "Click to call" functionality relies on your PCs default setting for "Tel protocol". Installing Zoom should set this for you automatically.

How Activity Tracking works with Zoom

Our integration ties directly into your Zoom account so all calls will be synced with Smokeball.

The automatic tracking will:

  1. Log all in and outbound calls as tasks in Activity and AutoTime.
  2. Map the phone number to the related contact in Smokeball.
  3. Assign the activity to the related matter in Smokeball.

Note:

  • If a phone number is assigned to more than 1 contact in Smokeball, the activity will not be auto-assigned to a contact.
  • If a contact calls in that is assigned to multiple matters, the task will be logged under the most recently created matter.
    • For both scenarios, you can manually assign these after the fact.
  • If no matter is associated with the contact, the task will remain unassigned.
