Using InfoTrack Financial Disclosure

Learn how to order an InfoTrack Financial Disclosure request in Smokeball for your clients in Property and Children & Property matters.

InfoTrack’s Financial Disclosure product assists in gathering and automating the collection of documents
required for divorce/separation matters.

The product is integrated with many third parties to assist in the automatic retrieval of bank statement PDFs, Notice of Assessment PDFs from myGov, and vehicle and property valuation reports. If your client needs to manually upload any documents (payslips etc), they will be able to in the workflow.

Documents uploaded will be synced back to your Smokeball matter in a handy .zip file for you to access. 

Financial Disclosure is available from Smokeball Version 8.17 onwards for Property and Children & Property matter types.

Sending a Financial Disclosure request

  1. Open a Property or Children & Property matter file in the Smokeball desktop app.
  2. Select Financial Disclosure from the Matter Action Bar. You will be taken to InfoTrack. 
  3. The Matter Reference and client details should automatically be pre-filled based on the Matter Info in Smokeball. Select Place Order.

The Financial Disclosure request from your client's perspective

Your client will receive a Financial Disclosure request via email. Once they click the Start financial disclosure button in the email, they will be taken to the upload process.

To continue, they will need to verify their identity using an SMS verification code sent to their mobile.

The client is expected to enter the following information:

  • Property details (Property Address)
  • Vehicle details (Vehicle registration)
  • Bank details - they will need to enter their bank credentials to login. Once they have logged in, the system will automatically retrieve the relevant bank statement PDFs and save them to the disclosure.

    • They can select Skip if they wish to upload bank statement PDFs manually.
  • MyGov details - the system will log into their MyGov and retrieve Notice of Assessment PDFs.

    • They can select Skip if they wish to upload Notice of Assessment PDFs manually.

At the end of the process, they can select Review your statement and add any more required documents, such as payslips, loans, super, etc.

Once all the required documents have been uploaded, they will need to click Send to your solicitor to finalise the process. This will turn the Financial Disclosure into Read-Only mode, and they can download a copy to their computer.

Back in your Smokeball matter, the files will be automatically compiled into a .zip folder with sub-folders for each category.

Frequently Asked Questions

What information does my client need prior to starting the Financial Disclosure workflow?

Your client will require their bank account login and myGov login credentials. They will need to have their ATO account linked to myGov to retrieve Notice of Assessments. They will also need their property address (if they own a property) and their vehicle registration number and state (if they own a vehicle).

Why are the documents in Smokeball marked as complete, but I am unable to access them?

Once your client uploads any document, we sync the documents back to Smokeball immediately. Once your client has submitted the entire Financial Disclosure, the order will be updated to Complete, and you will be able to access the documents.

In the future, you will be able to access your clients’ documents as soon as they have been uploaded,
regardless of the status of the overall Financial Disclosure status.

What data sources are involved in the process?

InfoTrack uses:

  • illion for the bank integration
  • illion for the myGov integration
  • RedBook for the vehicle valuation
  • CoreLogic for the property valuation

Will I get notified when the process has been completed?

Yes, you will receive an email notification once your client has submitted the Financial Disclosure request.

Will anyone else be able to access my clients’ documents?

No, InfoTrack does not have any access to clients' uploaded information. Please refer to the Financial Disclosure T&Cs for more information.

How secure is Financial Disclosure?

Every order will send a unique link to your client to start the process.

Your client will need to enter a verification code that will be sent to their mobile number to verify their activity.

InfoTrack's internal IT team has verified all integration partners and vetted their applications to ensure their security. All documents are stored in a secure infrastructure and environment.

No InfoTrack or Smokeball staff have any visibility or access to the documents and the contents.
