Version 8.14 of Smokeball introduces the following refinements and bug fixes to the desktop app.
New features
Print to Smokeball PDF
You can now save any document, webpage or resource directly to Smokeball by using Print to Smokeball PDF. This feature is available on any Windows application that contains a Print dialogue window, such as web browsers, image viewers and PDF readers.
Open the item that you want to save to a matter. Then, open the Print (Ctrl+P) menu, choose Print to Smokeball PDF from the list of available printers and select Print.
You will be prompted to select a matter and the location in the Document List to save the PDF.
PDFs saved using Print to Smokeball PDF are accessible from the Documents list of the matter.
Refinements
InfoTrack buttons reordered in a matter file
Icons for InfoTrack features in a matter have been rearranged to more accurately reflect your workflow.
Submitted Lead Intake form notifications appear in the Notification Centre
You will now be notified of a new Lead Intake form submission from the Notification Centre, instead of the Messages section (Client Portal).
If you are on the web app, you will still get notifications in the Messages section.
LeadPro custom form builder accessible to all staff
The LeadPro custom form builder is now available to all staff members in a firm, not just the Firm Owner. Learn more about creating a custom lead intake form.
Intake widget headings renamed
The Intake dashboard widget has received the following updates:
- The widget previously known as "Intake" has now been renamed as "Intake Forms".
- The "Intake Type" column has been renamed to "Name".
- The "Created" column has been renamed to "Shared".
- The status "Sent" has been renamed to "Shared".
Communicate name changes
The Communicate feature is now known as the Client Portal, accessible from the Messages tab in the Smokeball desktop app and web app.
With this change, Mentions of "Communicate" have been replaced with "Client Portal" in Smokeball. "Messages" are now used instead of "Communicate" messages.
Notable bug fixes
- Fixed an issue in Advanced Search where using Quick Search after an Advanced Search did not generate new results.
