Create Smokeball Payment links

Available on Smokeball Bill, Boost and the Grow and Prosper+ Cloud Companion App

This article will explain how to access the Smokeball Payments portal and set up payment links. You can use payment links to give your clients an accessible payment option on your firm's website and other client-facing pages. 

  1. Use the cog wheel to open settings.
  2. Select Smokeball Payments.

Once you are in the Smokeball Payments portal:

  1. Select Payment Links.
  2. Enter the name and description (optional) to differentiate payment links. 
  3. Select the deposit account.
  4. Select Fixed amount or Payer enters the amount.
    • Fixed amount allows you to state how much should be paid once you enter the desired value.
    • Payer enters the amount will not be pre-filled and value is entered by the payer. This option is recommended for websites.
  5. You also have the option of adding a client reference field or requiring a client phone number.
  6. Select Create Payment Link and you will then be able to paste it to your own website.

Important Note: Payments received using these links will not be automatically recorded into Smokeball.


Q: How can I process a refund for a transaction made through a payment link?

A: If you need to request a refund, email with the amount, date of transaction, law firm name, and payer's name.
