An antivirus update from Trend Micro released around February 26, 2024 may prevent you from opening the Smokeball desktop application and/or uninstalling Smokeball.

To resolve this issue:
- Navigate to the bottom right corner of your Windows taskbar and find the Trend Micro icon.
- Right-click on the icon and select Exit.
- Try to open Smokeball, or if uninstalling Smokeball, try to uninstall it.
- Once Smokeball opens properly, it is safe to turn your antivirus back on.
