1. Set up your firm & users
- Set up your Firm Details
- Add or edit staff and users
- Set up two factor authentication
- Discuss how to set up fixed fees and/or automated time tracking
- Note: Smokeball Billing contains additional settings, which will be covered in your trust transition session.
2. Set up your matters
- Create automatic matter numbering, which can be assigned from the lead stage
- Customise your document Re: lines for each matter type
- Create default document folders, matter notes and time & fees to organise your work
- Introduce how to set up matter stages
- Discuss your firm’s workflows and how to apply them to each matter type
3. Set up billing preferences
- Get started with Smokeball Billing
- Set your billing by minute increments
- Set up GST
- Add activity codes
4. Set up document automations and your precedents library
- Subscribe to precedents relevant to your area of law
- Configure automation settings
5. Configure Outlook and notifications
- Activate daily digest of today's activity: emails, events, phone messages and tasks
- Sync your calendar with Outlook
- Set up email preferences
6. Apply integrations and connect with other software
- Create an email marketing campaign
- Set up RingCentral or Zoom
- Set up Stripe to collect invoice payments from clients
